About Us

Electrical installation, fault finding and certification across Odemira and the whole Costa Vicentina.

How We Work

We visit before quoting whenever the job depends on the distance to the consumer unit or on what is inside the walls. A price given blind over the phone is either padded to cover the unknown, or it gets revised halfway through the work — and both are bad for whoever is paying. For simple, well-defined jobs we quote by phone without a problem.

The arrival time we give is the real one, travel included. This is the largest municipality in the country by area, and Odeceixe, Almograve or Zambujeira are not ten minutes away. We would rather say an hour and keep to it than say twenty minutes and turn up in fifty.

If the job grows, we stop and explain before carrying on. Nobody is left with work under way and no idea what it costs. And when a problem can wait for normal hours, we say so — it costs considerably less and is resolved just as well.

Documentation goes to the client, not only to whoever asked for it. The technical file and the consumer unit schedule will be needed again — for a sale, a power increase, a future renovation — and it is surprisingly common for nobody to hold a copy.

We work in English and German as a matter of course. A large part of the residents and holiday-let owners along this coast are not Portuguese speakers, and explaining what an RCD does or why an earth electrode reads badly in summer should not depend on the language it is explained in.

What We Do Not Do, and Say So Up Front

We carry out and certify interior low-voltage installations. What falls outside that is the physical grid connection in cases requiring a medium-voltage responsible engineer — something that comes up on larger agricultural holdings and high-power installations. In those cases we prepare and certify everything on the inside and coordinate with an external engineer.

We say this at the first visit rather than halfway through, because the confusion between the two is the most common source of missed deadlines: people contract the interior installation believing it includes the grid connection, and then wait months for something nobody requested.

We also say when a job is not worth doing. If a problem can wait for normal hours, if a consumer unit only needs one device added rather than replacing, or if certification is not actually required for what you want to do — we tell you. It costs us a smaller invoice and it is the reason people call again.

Certification: What Is Actually Required

Electrical paperwork in Portugal is something most people only deal with once, so it is worth explaining plainly rather than listing acronyms.

✅

Ficha Eletrotécnica

A new or significantly altered installation needs a technical file and a declaration of responsibility, filed by a certified installer with DGEG, the national energy directorate. You may still hear this called “CERTIEL” — that was the old scheme, replaced in 2018, but the name stuck and people still ask for it by that name.

📋

ITED

Covers the telecoms infrastructure inside a building — structured cabling, fibre, TV and intercom points. Mandatory for new builds and for renovations that touch that wiring.

⚖️

RTIEBT

The technical regulation every low-voltage installation in Portugal has to meet, whether or not a certificate is required for that particular job. It is the baseline, not an extra.
